Magnet Program & Contact Information
Magnet schools offer parents increased choice in their child’s education by providing a concentrated theme that offers innovative ways to meet students’ learning goals through a particular focus. While giving parents increased choice, our magnet schools still provide the district’s core curriculum in the areas of science, math, language arts and social studies. Leadership
As leaders, we nurture our unique identities and collaborate to improve our community. Students at Echo Park learn skills from the Leader in Me program that help them become leaders in the school and broader community. Leadership opportunities are part of each classroom and school-wide such as Student Council, Leadership Ambassadors, EP News Team, Safety Patrol, and more.
Engineering
As engineers, we creatively solve problems through a design process to improve our community. As early as Kindergarten, students are introduced to a variety of engineering fields while learning to collaborate through design challenges. Engineering is Elementary (EiE) curriculum is infused within core literacy, math, and science curriculum. Students work with different engineers from the community to solve real-world design problems.
Technology
As digital citizens, we utilize and create technology to improve and transform our community and world. Echo Park students learn to code by using apps and robotics to create programs. A variety of technology tools are used to help students create projects, collaborate, and solve problems throughout their learning.
District 196 STEM Pathway
Echo Park is part of District 196 STEM Pathway.
