Specialist

At Echo Park, students explore different specialist classes throughout the week to enrich learning. Students get heart rates pumping in Physical Education, explore rhythms within Music, use creative problem-solving in Art, and wonder through literacy in Library/Makerspace class. Physical Education

Physical education contributes to the lifelong development of the student by providing opportunities that positively impact and increase the intellectual, social, emotional and physical fitness of the student. Check out more information on the PE Website.

Music

Turning S.T.E.M. into S.T.E.A.M. with Some Rockin' Music at EP!!!

We do A LOT in the music room at Echo Park. We sing, we dance, we play instruments, we compose, we listen, we dive into history and do science experiments, we perform, we laugh, BUT most importantly we create music! Music has the power to do incredible things!

Art

Putting the "A" in S.T.E.A.M Learning

At Echo Park Elementary School of Leadership, Engineering, and Technology; we have some of the smartest artists around! The art curriculum includes a wide variety of art exploration, and creative concepts centering on the elements and principles of art. Students explore a wide variety of materials in art class from oil pastel, to clay and paper mache! Students learn about art from a variety of different cultures and history. Student work can be seen on display throughout the halls of our school, and on our EP art blog.

Media Center - Destiny Quest

Library Media at Echo Park Elementary is one of our specialist classes. Students in Kindergarten - 5th grade receive 50 minutes of instruction each five-six days. During these visits, children read great books, learn about the library, practice finding information safely from a variety of places, become digital citizens, check out materials, create in our Makerspace and learn about technology. Our goals include inspiring lifelong learning and create effective users of ideas and information.

Beyond being a space for specialist classes, the library is open every school day for staff and students to browse, read, check out materials, ask questions and seek answers, get help with projects, learn technology skills and collaborate with others.
